Position Summary

The 12volt Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for all aspects of sales and support of MiTek 12volt brands - primarily MTX Audio, for the assigned territories. This RSM will help develop and will execute sales plans and strategies in accordance with corporate sales goals and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be located east of the Mississippi, covering the eastern region of the U.S. 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the development and execution of a sales strategy for the market(s) that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability, this to include short and long-term sales goals, and measurable objectives.
  • Establish specific goals and effectively manage performance of each external rep companies to achieve overall sales goal. Hire and train rep companies in timely manner when necessary. Provide ongoing support and performance updates.
  • Personally manage key and high potential accounts, provide specific feedback and recommendations to improve sales.
  • Develops and executes sales plans for personal territories and/or territories temporarily not covered by an external rep company.
  • Travel assigned territories (rep or personal) with specific goals of dealer acquisition, improved sales, and/or training.
  • Direct or execute external communication programs on a consistent basis. 
  • Analyze internal processes and recommend and/or implement procedural or policy changes to improve sales or operational efficiency.
  • Understand MiTek processes and how to interface with following departments, as it relates to sales administration: R&D, Material Planning, Production, Warranty, Shipping, Marketing, Customer Service, and Sales.                                                                  
  • Assist in daily sales administration issues including but not limited to:  Responding to e-mails and phone calls when appropriate, updating daily sales and backorder reports, creating sales updates & program documents, creating new product set-up sheets, analyzing key accounts product mix’s productivity, and proofing marketing materials.
  • Conducts one-on-one reviews of customers to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance. Provide specific feedback related to applicable products for the market.   
  • Utilizes provided CRM tools and updates progress timely. Accurately documents dealer communication and visit activity.
  • Identify and close target accounts to achieve maximum exposure, coverage, and brand awareness.
  • Research new channels of distribution and develop acquisition plans.
  • Provides accurate forecast information based on assigned territories.
  • Research and understand industry, direction, and MTX competitors. Perform competitive analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Attends and supports tradeshow events, dealer shows, and other relevant offsite events when necessary.

Essential Tasks

  • Develop monthly sales forecast by territory and/or accounts as well as product forecasts.
  • Create monthly promotions related to seasonality, inventory, or market needs.
  • Approximately 50% travel.
  • Personally visit key accounts and target accounts in an effort to improve sales.
  • Travel with sales reps and support dealer presentations and calls to evaluate effectiveness and provide direction.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate communication of current sales performance, business trends and potential obstacles.
  • Perform or assist in product training via web, dealer/distributor visits and/or shows.
  • Assist and participate in applicable trade shows.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience


Two years of sales experience

Two years of management experience

Computer Skills

  • Proficient understanding of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat)
  • Ability to learn MiTek’s internal computer systems.

Other Requirements

  • Experience in strategic planning, supply chain management, and execution
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations
  • Has demonstrated ability to close deals and move a company/strategy forward to a successful outcome
  • Experience managing creative functions
  • Requires well-developed sales, communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Product knowledge of all MiTek Consumer brands
  • Understanding of product features, benefits, pricing, positioning, design and advertising
  • Ability to travel as needed and maintain a personal or company credit card
  • Ability to train, sell, and supervise
